On March 3, 2016, the Entertainment Software Association of Canada (ESAC) released a report by Dawson Strategic with recommendations on how the federal government can play a leading role in promoting digital skills and competence for Canadians.
The report examines the digital skills gap affecting the Canadian video game industry and urges the federal government to:
- Create a comprehensive national digital skills strategy;
- Support industry stakeholders to be active participants in digital skills education; and
- Establish a strong and respectful working partnership with the provinces to ensure that computing and digital skills are included in school curricula across Canada.
